About Frozen Pea Fund:
The Frozen Pea Fund was inspired by Susan Reynolds.
Here is Susan’s explanation, from Boobs on Ice, the blog she’s using to chronicle her cancer experience:
When I discovered a very thick area in my breast I called the doctor. The next day I was in her office. A half hour after that I was in the diagnostic radiologist’s. A full afternoon and multiple stab wounds later we had a variety of samples of malignant tentacles of tissue that were on their way to the lab. I was in a little pain - it would increase as the local anesthetic wore off - but left his office with a soft cold pack in my bra.To keep bleeding down & relieve pain I’d need to keep things cool. Traditional ice packs are hard and heavy. As much as I try to be a good sport I’m not into having a brick sitting on my chest.

Besides telling the cancer stories of real people, the Frozen Pea Fund helps fund Cancer Research, which is paramount if we are going to find a cure.
Why We Choose to Support Frozen Pea Fund:
As you may know, Extreme Halloween is a family owned and operated business. Harold B. Maxwell and his late wife, Hilda opened Annie's Costume and Magic in Plantation, FL in 1989. Their daughter, Shari Maxwell - McConahay put the business "online" in 1996; not long after Hilda was diagnosed with breast cancer. Hilda lost her battle with breast cancer May 31, 1999. In the mid 1990's, stem cell replacemnent was very experimental and new. Breast cancer treatment has come a long way since then, but we need a cure so that other families do not have to suffer as we have. We are supporting The Frozen Pea fund because it is inspired by another strong and fabulous woman who's story should be told and shared and because it will raise funds for more of that much needed research in efforts to find a cure. A cure to wipe out this killer of moms, grandmothers, sisters, wives & beautiful women around the world.
10% of sales from all costumes and accessories on out Think Pink page will be donated to Frozen Pea Fund in honor of Hilda Maxwell.
